For our clients renewable energy usually means a “Distributed Generation” system–also called on-site generation. This system generates energy at the facility site and reduces the amount of energy required from the utility company. An example of a such a system is a roof-top solar photovoltaic (“PV”) panel array. Other technologies  include: fuel cells that use hydrogen and oxygen–the molecules that create water–to produce electricity without pollution; gas turbines that generate electricity by burning natural gas; solar hot water–also roof-top solar systems–that generate hot water; and energy storage including systems that store energy when it is inexpensive to produce and deliver energy when energy rates are high.
